When we began working with the Asian Bridge India school in January 2024, it was in urgent need of renovation and educational reform. Corporal punishment was still common, and meaningful learning was rare.
Since then, our support has sparked a deep transformation. From hands-on math and free play in early education to joyful English lessons, learning is now effective and engaging.
Through ongoing mentoring and teacher training, we’re helping shape a school where both students and teachers can thrive.
We provide guidance in running a center where street children are gradually prepared over several years—at kindergarten and preschool level—for entry into the formal school system.
The kindergarten follows a Montessori-inspired approach, emphasizing hands-on learning, a structured daily rhythm with child-led work, and the development of social and emotional skills in a safe and nurturing environment.
Through our Future Education Program, we support over 30 teenagers and young adults in completing their school, university, or vocational education.
We not only cover educational fees but also provide scholarships for living expenses, ensuring they don’t have to return to life on the streets. In addition, we accompany them on their path to independence with seminars on emotional intelligence and self-efficacy.
A school is only as strong as its teachers. That’s why we regularly offer practical, hands-on workshops—online and offline—tailored to teachers’ knowledge and everyday challenges.
We know that many teachers have experienced trauma themselves, so our trainings also support their emotional resilience. Most sessions are held in Hindi, and we actively involve school principals to ensure long-term change.
To date, we’ve conducted over 100 workshops and have supported some schools for years.
